Roseville – Eastpointe Eastsider

January 4, 2012

A group of a little more than a dozen residents gathered on Gratiot Avenue, at Common, in a protest effort they called “Ban the Boom Box” on May 24.

They were protesting against cars driving around with the bass so loud that they said they could feel it in their homes. They were hoping their display would push the city into doing something about what they referred to as audio assault and an epidemic.

Roseville does enforce a sound ordinance, but it is difficult to enforce in moving structures, officials said.
