Everyone receiving this note is hoping for a quieter new year. Here are tangible actions you can take to promote peace and quiet:
- write a letter to the editor
- write to your local officials
- meet with a police officer
- post something about noise on your Facebook page
- join (or form) a neighborhood association; raise the issue of noise
- raise the issue of noise on Next Door
- purchase copies of our book on illegal motorcycle noise for your local police departments
- ask your police department to hire Noise Free America: A Coalition to Promote Quiet to conduct police noise enforcement training (with Michael Bogart, the former noise control police officer for Elkhart, Indiana)
- ask your neighbors to switch to quieter lawn equipment
- do a Noisy Dozen press release on noise in your community
- join Noise Free America’s list-serv
- publicize the Elkhart, Indiana noise enforcement model
- contact television stations and networks about our television PSAs
- volunteer with Noise Free America: A Coalition to Promote Quiet
