Everyone receiving this note is hoping for a quieter new year.  Here are tangible actions you can take to promote peace and quiet:

  1. write a letter to the editor
  2. write to your local officials
  3. meet with a police officer
  4. post something about noise on your Facebook page
  5. join (or form) a neighborhood association; raise the issue of noise
  6. raise the issue of noise on Next Door
  7. purchase copies of our book on illegal motorcycle noise for your local police departments
  8. ask your police department to hire Noise Free America: A Coalition to Promote Quiet to conduct police noise enforcement training (with Michael Bogart, the former noise control police officer for Elkhart, Indiana)
  9. ask your neighbors to switch to quieter lawn equipment
  10. do a Noisy Dozen press release on noise in your community
  11. join Noise Free America’s list-serv
  12. publicize the Elkhart, Indiana noise enforcement model
  13. contact television stations and networks about our television PSAs
  14. volunteer with Noise Free America: A Coalition to Promote Quiet
  15. come to Washington, DC in September to advocate for renewed funding of the federal noise pollution control office
  16. read our manual on “How to Fight Noise
  17. make a financial donation to Noise Free America
  18. conduct a crowdfunding campaign for Noise Free America
